Inspiration Stories
From the white-glazed Yuhuchun vase of the Ding kilns in the Northern Song dynasty to the Dehua white porcelain of the Ming and Qing periods—still highly admired overseas today—these traditions share a common aesthetic essence: Oriental White.
Drawing on the form of the Yuhuchun vase, the design develops into the Persimmon Calyx motif. As a botanical symbol of resilience, it was regarded in ancient China as both structurally enduring and cosmologically significant, embodying the harmony of the Five Elements and revered as the “flower of the firmament.” This motif is further enriched through the decorative language of 17th–18th century European metal-mounted porcelain.
Set against a softly aged golden tone, the jewellery highlights the gentle luminosity and quiet nobility of Oriental White.
By transforming this life-infused motif into wearable forms, we seek to carry its symbolic strength and cross-cultural aesthetics into everyday life.
